This year commemorates the 95 th Anniversary of the 1927 Bristol
Sessions and the Birthplace of Country Music is celebrating with a
big party in Historic Downtown Bristol on the beautiful stateline of
Tennessee and Virginia – the annual Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion
music festival.
They have an amazing line-up this year, including Rosanne Cash, Tanya
Tucker, JJ Grey & Mofro, Del McCoury Band, The Wood Brothers,
Jerry Douglas Band, Fantastic Negrito, among many more great
artists - including several from the Asheville area.
During Bristol Rhythm & Roots weekend visitors will also have the
opportunity to explore the special exhibit “1968: A Folsom
Redemption”at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. It is a
collection of photographs and memories of two journalists lucky
enough to be among the eye-witnesses to the historic Johnny Cash
concerts at Folsom Prison.
