Yvette Jives is an Asheville native, a wife of 40yrs, parent to 4 and 8 year ovarian cancer survivor. She is also the author of, “Windowed Revelations of Ovarian Cancer”, cofounder of CoThinkk & founder of HERS, LLC- a healthcare navigation consulting agency aimed at improving healthcare outcomes for ovarian cancer patients and symptom-driven diseases.
Yvette is actively involved in presenting and being a change agent locally and within worldwide organizations with an emphasis on Gynecological Cancers and symptom-driven diseases in women and people of color. Yvette serves on the Buncombe County Health and Human Services Board, The Advisory Board with Haywood Street Respite and The Patient Advisory Committee with Mission Hospital. She is also a founding participant of the Health Equity Task Force (HETF) focused on identifying and putting action plans in-place to address healthcare disparities with women of color and is also the only women of color presenter within WNC for Survivors Teaching Students (STS). Both HETF and STS are programs in partnership with The Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA).
